A View of the outer islands
In 2013, i was approached by Utoyggjafelagið to produce a film about the smaller islands of the Faroe Islands and its people.
The goal was to show tourists, there's more to the Faroe Islands than the tourist websites and flyers show.
The films release was to coincide with the launch of a new website called Vit.fo.
This has been the biggest project i have undertaken. It was a huge task to coordinate and put together.
It took two trips to the Faroe Islands in the summer of 2013 to get all the shots.
The film is filmed almost entierly on my Canon 5D Mk3 - unfortunately, because i was a "one man crew" when making this film, i didn't have the possibilities to travel with a lot of gear, so i had to pack light and do alot of handheld shots.
I had the pleasure of working with one of the biggest musicians in the Faroe Islands, Høgna Lisberg, on making the music for the film.
The film is being shown daily on Norrøna, the boat to the Faroe Islands.
A couple of months ago, the company responsible for the videos shown in McDonalds resturants in germany, asked permission to use three different versions of the film, to show in over 800 restaurants across germany.
